Czech Republic wants to host the European Baseball Championship in 2023
Czech Baseball Association would like to host the European Baseball Championship in men’s baseball in 2023. The association announced their intent after their latest meeting.
ČBA chairman Petr Ditrich confirmed this news for Milujeme Baseball: (translated) “Yes, we would like to host the European Baseball Championship in 2023.” There are currently no information any other country wants to offer a counter bid for the hosting position. “We have no information that other countries are interested [in hosting the championship],” Ditrich added. “We believe our chances on hosting the championship are substential.”
ČBA prefers Brno as the location for the championship. Brno was already a co-organizer of European Baseball Championship in 2014, where the games were partially played in Regensburg, Germany, and in the parks in Brno, Ostrava and Třebíč in Czech Republic. Czech Republic also hosted European Baseball Championship in 2005, when the games were played in Prague.
National team to Tenerife
Czech national team should travel to Tenerife in November. The team under the guidance of Mike Griffin should play friendly games against Germany and Spain. It is currently not clear which players will be nominated, but we expect players from Men’s national team, as well as U23 players.
