Fans could look forward to one Extraliga game on Tuesday, thanks to Draci Brno and Sokol Hluboká nad Vltavou. Reigning champions got a chance to finally win a game in the series, which they were unable to do in the end.
First four innings saw a pitching duel in YD Baseball Arena. Home David Mergans and visiting Rui Narasaki didn’t allow many runners on bases and so neither teams scored.

In the fifth inning, however, Draci starter lost control over his pitches and walked 5 batters. Furthermore, Martin Mužík hit a double, which scored 2 runs. Vojtěch Ventruba went to stop Sokol’s offense, which he did promptly and so visitors finished the inning with „only“ 3 run lead.
Draci found a way to hit against Japanese pitcher in the sixth inning, after Beiker Mendoza’s double meant two runs scored. However, Hluboká smelt blood in the water and they scored 2 more runs in the following inning. Draci responded and the game promised a dramatic ending.
But then it never happened. Visitors sent Alec Lemmon on the mound who only allowed one runner on base in 2 innings. His teammates added one more run to give him some breathing room, but in the end Lemmon didn’t need it and the game finished 6-4 for the visitors.
Hluboká swept Draci in the series and overtook them in Extraliga table. They currently have 4 wins and 3 losses. Draci are currently in 5th spot after playing 7 games, and they continue right away, on Wednesday in Třebíč.
