European Women’s Baseball Championship postponed to 2025
WBSC announced postponement of the next European Women’s Baseball Championship. Tournament, which was supposed to be played in 2024 is now moved to 2025, following a new WBSC calendar.
August and September will see Group Stage of World Cup being played in Canada and Japan, with the top teams moving to Final Stage. This will take place in 2024 in accordance with new WBSC calendar, which changes current format (originally planned for 2 year cycle, despite last World Cup being played in 2018) to 4 year cycle. Due to synchronization, following European Championship is moved to 2025.
Czech national team will try to at least defend the silver medal they won in 2022 in French Montpellier. The postponement allows them to extend their preparation, however, it also moves one of the main means to propagate women’s baseball in Europe.
