EXL: Hluboká won their first game in TOP 6
TOP 6 continued with two games on Friday, both of which brought interesting results.
Sokol Hluboká – Eagles Praha 8-6
Hluboká entered the game against Eagles as the only team in TOP 6 without a win. And the game didn’t start on a positive note for Sokol when Eagles scored 3 runs against them. Bottom half saw Martin Mužík score a two run homerun in return, however.
The score remained unchanged for a few innings when both Takamune Ichige and Samuel Steigert kept batters in check.
Hluboká then sent Michal Malát on the mound in the seventh inning, and Eagles took advantage of it to increase their lead to 5-2. But Sokol responded in the bottom half of the inning and they quickly took the lead. Home team added five runs and keep improving their tally in the eighth with the third RBI from Camden Vasquez.
Sokolo sent Joseph Enea on the mound who played for Eagles in the past. He only allowed one run to his former teammates thanks to which Hluboká won their first TOP 6 game.
Třebíč Nuclears – Tempo Praha 1-4
We got to see a great matchup between two national team players at Vysočina on Friday. Both Jake Rabinowitz and visiting Marek Minařík threw a complete game. But only one of them could leave with a win and this time the game went better for the visitors.
And it was Minařík who gave Tempo their first run in the fourth inning. The following inning didn’t go well for the defenders who made three errors and Tempo added two more runs. In the ninth both teams added a run and decided the final score 4-1.
Třebíč couldn’t win despite 11 strikeouts from Rabinowitz, who only walked one batter. On the other hand Tempo had 11 hits against him. Marek Minařík allowed 2 fewer hits and striked out 7 batters.
Both teams will have a tough Saturday when they play a doubleheader against one another. It can be expected they will finish the entire series in less than 24 hours.
