This year’s WBSC Europe congress turned out very positive for Czech baseball. They won three out of four awards for the 2023 season. The only award Czechs missed was the Coach of the Year.
Czech Baseball Association was awarded the Federation of the Year award for the fourth time in the history. WBSC Europe awarded ČBA mainly for „the outstanding organization of EuroBaseball 2023“. This year’s championship broke all the previous records in the attendance and we could hear praise from all the sides.

The next award goes to the referee Marek Vičar. WBSC Europe adds to his performance: „Vičar’s on-field performance has been consistently outstanding, earning him recognition as a role model for young umpires.“ Czech referees took this award for the third time.
The second time in the history it was also the Czech scorekeepers who were recognized. This time the award went to Romana Kucková, who has been among scorekeepers for a long time and she earned the respect of not only the Czech baseball community throughout the years. Furthermore, scorekeeper category seems to be dominated by women recently, as the last man to win the award was in 2019 (for 2018 season).
