U18 team started the tournament with a win against Mexico
Czech U18 team played their first game at the international tournament in Porto Rico. Their opponent was the team from Mexico. Young Czechs showed their skill and managed to get the win.
Czech started with Michael Senaye on the mound and he kept the opponent scoreless in the first inning. Czechs took the lead in the following half innings thanks to the hit from Max Prejda who sent Jonáš Krejčí home.

Pavel Jozek’s double in the second inning then cleared the based and gave Czechs 6-0 lead.

National team coaches said before the tournament their goal was to rotate their pitchers and so Adrián Mück, Ondřej Dostálek, David Křeček and Vít Staněk all got to pitch against Mexico. They allowed 4 runs, leading to 9-4 Czech win.
Based on the tournament rules, the game is limited to 2 hours and 15 minutes, where the teams were able to play 4 and half innings.
“I’m happy for the win. Guys showed good at bats, pitchers threw strikes,” said the manager Petr Čech after the game. “There were a lot of people supporting us. We are happy to start with a win.”
Czechs started the tournament with a win and will have a bye on Sunday. They will then play three games in three days.
