College Baseball: Pacal with the first win. Unfortunate series for Zelenka and Hluchý

College Baseball season started in the USA over the weekend. As is the tradition, this also starts the series on the performance of Czech players in College Baseball on our web site.

Ondřej Vank played his first game for Northeastern. He played in the very first game of the series against New Mexico but it is very likely he will want to forget it as soon as possible. Czech pitcher threw 2 innings, allowing 5 hits, 5 runs and walked 3 batters. Northeastern lost 5-15 in the end, and lost the series 0-3.

Lukáš Pacal had a much better start for Arizona Western College, where he played on Sunday against Chandler-Gilber CC. Czech pitcher helped his team to 5-3 win, after he threw 5 innings. He only allowed 1 run and 5 hits. Furthermore, he did not walk anyone and added 3 strikeouts. Arizona swept their opponent in a 4 game series.

Michal Zelenka also played his first game for Galveston College. Unfortunately, his team lost all 3 games due to a walk-off hits from Angelina College. Furthermore, the player statistics are not available and so we cannot get a better look on the Czech youngster’s performance.

Viktor Hluchý playes at the same university as Zelenka. He also got his chance against Angelina College, but similar to Zelenka, his statistics are not available.
