College Baseball: Aleš Zhao with a homerun and 10 strikeouts
Some of the college baseball leagues have the last week of the regular season ahead of them.
Martin Zelenka played in two games for UNC Wilmington, this time always as a substitute. He came in the first game against East Carolina in the eighth inning with score at 3-7 and in the end was the last batter of the game. He didn’t finish with a hit in the end. In the second game against Towson Tigers he joined in in the seventh inning as a pinch-hitter. In this case he was walked and then reached the home base as his team won 22-0 in seven innings.
Ondřej Vank started in the third game against Luna CC and remained on the mound for 4.2 innings. He allowed 4 hits and 6 runs (3 ER), walked 4 batter and had 3 strikeouts. His team won 13-6 in the end.
There was only one hit in four innings for Community Christian College when Lukáš Pacal was on the mound. He also added 7 strikeouts and helped his team to 18-0 win after 5 innings. His Arizona Western College currently holds 34-17 record before the last week of the regular season and are 18-14 in the conference. They are currently 4th in ACCAC. They will now play 4 games against Central Arizona College, who are a spot ahead of them with 19-13 record.
Pitt CC and Jan Pospíšil only had one game against Lenoir CC this week. They won 10-0 in five games and Czech player helped with two hits.
Aleš Zhao played 6 games for Minnesota West and had solid outing. He had 4 hits, one of which was a homerun, and 4 RBI. He also pitched the game against Western Technical College where he threw 4.1 innings, allowing 7 runs and striking out 10 batters. Unfortunately the game finished with 5-8 loss.
