College Baseball: We are slowly wrapping up regular season
College Baseball regular season is slowly wrapping up in USA. Lukáš Pacal and his Arizona West even played the last game before the postseason in the previous season.
Unfortunately Martin Zelenka didn’t play any games for UNC Wilmington. His university won the series against Charleston 2-1 and improved their record in the conference to 11-7. Ondřej Vank also didn’t play even though his team played a four game series against Trinidad State College, and finished with 3 wins.
Lukáš Pacal started in the first game of the important series against Central Arizona College. Czech pitcher had a good game, where he allowed 4 runs in seven innings. The game needed to be decided in the extra innings where Arizona Western College lost 9-10. Pacal and his team lost the series 1-3 and will finish in the final 5th place after the regular season. Pacal played 15 games in the regular season (14 as a starter) threw 77 innings with ERA 3.97 and 64 strikeouts.
Jan Pospíšil had a great week. He played all 4 games for Pitt CC and helped his team to 3 wins. He had 7 hits and 6 RBI, which improved his BA to .389. His school will now play the last 4 games of the regular season, where they can solidify the first place in the standings.
Minnesota West played eight games in the previous week, and Aleš Zhao played in seven of them. His best game was against Anoka-Ramsey CC, where he had 2 hits (4 AB), 2 runs, 3 RBI, and 3 stolen bases. He also started on the mound against the same opponent in the following game. There the threw 3.2 innings and allowed 6 runs (5 ER), walked 4, and struck out 5. His team will play the last two conference games of the regular season on Tuesday although their record is not stellar with 3-13. Their overall record is better, with .354 rate and record 14-26-1.
