Marcus Weinzimer is the player of the Opening Week

After a while we return to Player of the Week announcements, both in Extraliga and First League. The first week goes to Eagles Praha player Marcus Weinzimer.

Twenty three year old player helped his team sweep Kotlářka Praha. He was in the batting box 5 times in the first game, with 2 walks from the first four, but he also had the tying run in the eighth inning. An inning later he finally got a hit, which batted in the winning run.

While Weinzimer only had a hit on Friday, Saturday looked very different. He had 5 hits from the first 5 AB. He also batted in 7 runs, which amounted to half of the runs of his team in 14-10 win. He then went into the batting box in the ninth inning, but this time it wasn’t a hit and he was unable to tie Jakub Malík and Matěj Menšík who are the only two players (since 2016) to have 6 hits in a game.
