MLB: Adam Macko TOP 9 Mariners prospect based on Baseball America ranking

Slovak baseballer, playing for Seattle Mariners organization, Adam Macko improved his prospect standings based on Baseball America ranking. He’s currently at #9 spot for Mariners.

Macko was left out of TOP 10 in the previous season, and so he now improved by three places for 2022. Baseball America further writes he has potential to become a stable member of Mariners rotation. However, he needs to work on his pitches and control. So far, his best pitch should be curveball, where he earned 70 points (80 being the best, while 20 the worst).

Here are the full scouting grades: Fastball: 55, Slider: 50, Curveball: 70, Changeup: 45, Control: 45.

Writer Kyle Glasser also noted that Macko’s future might not be in Mariners. Based on his words, there is a number of teams interested in Slovak pitcher and it seems likely he will be traded. “…considering his background and how quickly he’s added velocity [to his pitches], developed a filthy curveball and held his own against full-season professionals, it’s not hard to see him progressing even more as he gains more experience. The Mariners see it, other teams see it…” as he answered the answer on what makes Macko interesting for other teams. If young pitcher continues to improve at current pace, we could see him in MLB at 2024 at latest.
