EXL: Jimmy Jensen could play in Czech Extraliga
We brought this information in the previous episode of Monday BallCast podcast, but in case you didn’t listen (or watch), we are adding it here as well. According to our sources, American player Jimmy Jensen is headed to Czech Extraliga.
Player was supposed to play for Hroši Brno in 2020. However, this plan was halted due to Covid pandemic, and Jensen played in nearby Austria instead. He should be, again, joining Hroši Brno, despite numerous teams being interested in the player.
Jensen is known in Europe, as he already played in Austria, Germany and France. Each time he showed good performances, belonging to the best players of each league. A big plus is the fact he can, along playing as a fielder, help his team as a pitcher. He excels in both parts, which is solidified by his number. In the previous year, he batted .319 and ERA 1.49 in Austria Bundesliga.
He is also not a completely unfamiliar to Czech Republic, as he was part of International Stars team in Prague Baseball Week. He ispart of coaching staff with Austrian national team, and so he could potentially extend an enclave of foreign trainers in Brno.
