First League: Hluboká wins the series and will play in the finale
Czech First Baseball League knows the first team playing in the finals. After the defeat, Frýdek-Místek will not have the opportunity to defend last year’s title. Instead, we will see Hluboká nad Vltavou.
The fans had to wait three games to see the resolution of the series, since the teams split the weekend games 1-1. The teams moved from southern Bohemia to northern Moravia for the final game in the series. Despite this, Hluboká was marked the home team in the game.
Sokol started the game with David Lukáš on the mound. The pitcher managed to keep Frýdek-Místek’s offensive in check for 7 inning, where he didn’t allow a single run. However, Klasik pushed in 8th inning, scoring 4 runs. By that time Hluboká already scored 8 times.
Sokol’s offense also showed its power, with every batter registering at least a hit. Combined with the pitching display, where David Lukáš pitched a complete game, Hluboká managed to win the game 6-10, moving to the First League finals. This gives the team a chance to grab their sixth title in the First League. We will have to wait for the name of the second finalist, who will come from the duel between Blesk Jablonec and Pelikans Bučovice.
