First League: Two games in Hluboká offered 69 runs

First League semifinals started this weekend, and the series between Hluboká and Frýdek-Místek already offered an unexpected number of runs.

Both games offered a huge rally of the home sides. In the first game, Klasik Frýdek-Místek led Sokol Hluboká 14-5 in the middle of 7th inning. However, home team managed to face the odds, winning 15-16 with a walk-off hit. The last run was attributed to a defensive error.

Second game started with Klasik Frýdek-Místek as the home team. Klasik was aware that losing would mean, they wouldn’t have a chance to defend the first place from previous year. Despite this, the home team was down 10-0 in 3rd inning. Bottom of the 3rd inning, however, showed Klasik score 6 runs, gaining a momentum. Klasik managed to gain lead in the 5th inning, despite Hluboká’s Kamil Miranda grand slam changing the score to 16-9 for the away team. Klasik stepped up their game, and combined with Hluboká’s defensive errors home team managed to score 13 runs in the inning. The game ended 16-22 for Klasik, as it had to be finished earlier due to insufficient light. The winner of the series will be decided on Monday in Frýdek-Místek.
