Which Czech stadium saw the most homeruns this year?
With Czech Extraliga over, the time has come to start to summarize the year. We will bring you several articles, where we look at interesting statistics, games, and highlights of the season. We will also dive into 1st League that still has playoff stage ahead.
Today, we take a look at the different stadiums, and the number of homeruns scored there. In general, there’s a consensus among fans, that, due to its smaller size, the stadium of Technika Brno has the highest rate of homeruns per stage. Statistics from the regular season show this to be true, as fans at Kraví Hora could see almost twice the number of homeruns (23) compared to those at Kotlářka (12), which finished second. Third place belongs to Eagles Park (11), however, it is worth noting, this is likely caused by the higher number of games played there. As a park with the lights, Eagles Park was a host to games of other Prague teams during the weekdays. One the other hand, Strawberry Field, the home ground of Blansko, had fans waiting for the homeruns in vain during entire duration of the regular season.

We can see the influence of the outter dimensions of the stadiums, as first three places (excluding Eagles Park for abovementioned reason) were taken by the teams with the shortest distance to the fence.
When counting homeruns for the regular season, TOP6, and playoff, Kotlářka home ground takes first place with 35 blasts behind the fence.

What about 1st League?
Fans watching the 1st League could also see a number of homeruns. Domažlice home ground saw the highest number of them by far. Despite having the stadium of similar dimensions to Bučovice stadium, the team from Bohemia region saw more homeruns due to the pitching performance, as 17 out of 22 homeruns were scored by away players.
If you are fans of Hroši Brno, you would have more luck seeing homeruns in their Extraliga games, as there was none scored in the 1st League. Similar situation was also seen at the stadiums in Frýdek-Místek and Olomouc, where homeruns were a rare sighting. This is no news with Skokani Olomouc, as some of the players mentioned they felt somewhat „lonely“ in the outfield.
