Czechs lost by a narrow margin in third game at Tenerife
After first two games at Tenerife mini-tournament both Czechs and Spanish won one and lost one game. Winning the Wednesday game meant, Czech couldn’t lose the series.
EDIT: Originally, the article claimed Czech lost 4-5. The final result was, however, 4-7, as the authors didn’t notice the game was played in 9 innings, rather than 7 as the games before. We apologize for misleading our readers.
However, Czech national team didn’t enter the game well, after home team scored 4 runs against Jan Novák. Starting pitcher of Kotlářka Praha then managed, with help of the defense, to halt the Spanish defense, giving Czechs a chance to level the score. First, Marek Minařík scored the first run in the second inning, followed by Martin Červenka‚s homerun, which led to 2-4.
