EXL: Wesley Roemer returns to Extraliga to play for Hluboká
Hluboká nad Vltavou returns to Extraliga after a long while and the team is pulling no stops in the season, which will determine which clubs will play in the shrinked format in 2022.
Earlier we wrote about the acquisitions of Martin Mužík and Petr Vojta who came from Eagles. First foreigner to bolster Hluboká’s ranks is American Wesley Roemer. Budějcká Drbna was the first to inform about the signing. Roemer played in Czech Extraliga between 2017 – 2019, when he played for Draci Brno and Arrows Ostrava. He was able to win title with both clubs.
Roemer solidified his place in Extraliga history with two no-hitters, becoming only third player who had more than one no-hitter. In the previous year, Roemer played for Heidenheim Heideköpfe in German Bundesliga. He is not the only foreigner Hluboká is trying to sign, as the club is aiming for two more players, whos names were not yet announced.
