Prague will have a new baseball club
A new club from the capital will join the Czech baseball scene. The club will be named Rhinos Prague and it should be based in north-eastern part of Prague.
Pavel Kalčev and Michal Hanuš, the two names behind the Rhinos, both have plenty of experience in Czech baseball.
[trans.] „We have a relatively large number of small parks in Prague,“ Michal Hanuš explained us in a phone call. [trans.] „So I started to search for places, where we could build a baseball park. By sheer coincidence I met with Pavel Kalčev, who also wanted to create a new [baseball] club and start to bring up new players, from the youngest ones to adults. We found a few places suitable for sports and our goal, beside building a baseball and a softball club, is to create the facilities and support around. We want to focus on the north-eastern Prague since we don’t want to invade other clubs territories.“
Asking whether Rhinos wants to focus on younger players only, Michal Hanuš responded, that this wasn’t their only goal and that Rhinos would like to have senior team in the future. [trans.] „We will see. We don’t want to focus on the young players only, but we want to be a classical general baseball club.“
Stále jsme ve fázi čekání na zápis spolku na portál https://t.co/bKW9OrGllG, a také v čekání na registraci Rhinos Praha do @BaseballCzech a @czechsoftball.
