College Baseball: Zelenka with a win, Prokop with more hits

Two Czech players were in action on Wednesday, but only Martin Zelenka was able to celebrate a win.

Zelenka’s Pitt Community College squared off against Barton College JV. Czech catcher didn’t start, but he entered the game in the sixth inning. Seventh inning saw him send a ball in play, which resulted in a triple play. The other innings went better, however. In the eight inning, Zelenka caught his opponent stealing the second base, which he followed by a reached base after an error in ninth inning. Only few moments later, he scored a game winning run. Despite a push Barton College mounted in the last inning, Pitt managed to keep the win.

Milan Prokop played two games for Combine Academy against Mike Griffin’s Pro5. Czech player started in both games, however, in didn’t see his team win in either of them. In the first game, he got an RBI in seventh inning, soon followed by a run, leveling the score to 2-2. The game reached extra inning, but it was Pro5 team that managed to score and win 3-2. Prokop’s opponents much more active in the second game, where they scored 7 runs in the first inning. Young Czech couldn’t add any hit to his stat sheet.
