College Baseball: Chlup with another homerun, Padyšák started for CSU
Saturday college games offered a number of Czech players to watch. We could also see Filip Smola play for the first time in the season.
Marek Chlup, playing for North Greenville, is turning heads recently. NGU played another doubleheader against Chowan and Czech player continued with the impressive offensive display. With his first at bat, he managed to blast the ball behind the fence, and got his seventh HR on the season. It also marked his fourth HR in four at bats.
Chlup added two sacrificial RBI, with 4 RBI total in the match. He didn’t play in the second game, as coaches decided to give other players a chance.
Daniel Padyšák started on the mound for CSU in doubleheader against Longwood. He showed a nice outing, pitching 5 innings with only two runs allowed. He also got 7 SO and was substituted at the beginning of the sixth with the score leveled at 2-2. In the end, CSU managed to win the game 6-5.
NC State with Vojtěch Menšík played a game against Miami on Saturday. This time, Wolfpack wasn’t able to follow the Friday win and they lost 4-6. Czech player started at the thrid base and beside a hit, he also showed his quickness in the defense.
Pitt Community College played a doubleheader and Martin Zelenka didn’t miss the action. In the first game, Pitt won 12-0, Czech catcher contributed with two hits. In the second game, he was substituted after three innings, as his team was way ahead of their opponent. Till his substitution he managed to get two walks and a run.
Filip Smola played his first game of the season for University Charleston (UCM). He played as a shortstop during the 11-0 win, however, we were not able to see him at bat.
Combine Academy with Milan Prokop played two games. Draci’s product got himself a hit against IBAHS. He played better in the second game against Sunshine State Elite Academy, few hours later, where he had a walk and a run. Combine won both games.
