College Baseball: Kovala with a first win
The beginning of the week saw college baseball games continue in their schedule and Czech players were not missing in the lineups of their teams.
NC State played two games against North Carolina on Monday. This time, Vojtěch Menšík and his team saw two wins. Czech was more successful in the first game where he earned two hits.
North Greenville squared off against Lander, with NGU winning 5-2 in the end. Marek Chlup‚s team is now 21-6 on the season, and this is thanks to no small part to the Czech player, who added two more RBI to his stat sheet and now holds .427 BA.
We could see Filip Smola on Monday when Charleston University played against Fairmont. Smola played in the second game of the two, he entered the batting box in the seventh inning while his team led 9-4. Czech added a hit to his stats.
Marcus Weinzimer entered the game against Willamette as a substitute, he managed to only get a single plate appearance, which ended in a strikeout.
Combine Academy played three games, two against NLA and one against Forsythe. We could see both Czechs in action, when Michal Kovala threw three innings, without allowing a run, and earning 6 K. Combine won the game 14-0 and Czech pitcher earned the win in his stats column. Milan Prokop was unable to add another hit to his stats.
