College Baseball: Zelenka with three hits. Combine Academy won tournament
While there weren’t as many Czech players to watch in Sunday college games, those who played performed well. Martin Zelenka showed himself in especially bright light, while Milan Prokop‚s team celebrated a tournament win.
D1 NC State played third game against Miami. The first two games of the series saw the teams split the wins, hence, it was the Sunday game that was to decide on the series‘ winner. In the end, thanks to the five runs in the sixth inning, it was Miami who took the 6-4 win. Vojtěch Menšík played at third and he managed to get a free base.
Third game in the series also awaited Martin Zelenka’s Pitt College. His team managed to beat Bryant&Stratton with Czech catcher having a positive outing, scoring 3 hits and 2 RBI.
Combine Academy played more competitive games on the tournament under Perfect Game organization. Milan Prokop helped his team to 8-0 win against IBAHS in the semifinals with a run and a sacrificial hit. He continued with a hit in the finals, where Combine Academy beat NLA 8-1 to snatch the first place in the tournament. Michal Kovala played on the mound in the last inning against Citius. He got all of the three batters he faced out, two after a fly out and one with a strikeout.
