Extraliga will start a week later without crowds
The top flight of Czech baseball won’t start on time. Extraliga was scheduled to begin on 2nd of April. There were, however, scenarios where it was assumed the league might start as late as end of April. Thankfully, this wasn’t the case and the fans will be able to watch baseball from 9th of April.
The information was confirmed by ČBA. Unfortunately, with the continued pandemic situation, the start of the league will be without the crowds. The fans will only be able to see their teams play via online streams. It will be interesting to see whether and how the teams improved their game streaming from previous season.
As far as the other baseball leagues in the country go, these were not given an exception and First league is not likely to start before May.
