Marek Chlup won player of the week award
Great performance by North Greenville’s Marek Chlup didn’t go unnoticed. National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) picked him for player of the week award in NCAA Division II Southeast Region.
Czech player had 7 hits in 16 AB last week, which amounted to solid .438 BA. Six of the seven hits were multibase hits, with 4 homeruns, a double and a triple. More impressively, the 4 HR were from 4 AB in row.
Overall, Marek Chlup has 7 HR for the season, .417 BA (20 out of 48), 20 RBI and 13 R. It would seem that changing NC State for NGU was a positive move for young player.
