College Baseball: Daniel Padyšák with third loss. Efficient Zelenka
While Czech fans primarily watched Extraliga Opening Weekend, college baseball continued overseas. Let’s take a look on how Czech players did.
After winning on Friday, NC State managed to defeat Boston College in two more games. Naturally, Vojtěch Menšík was in the starting lineup and earned 1 H and 1 RBI in the doubleheader.
University Charleston Southern played doubleheader against Campbell on Saturday, and Daniel Padyšák started the second game on the mound. This time, Czech pitcher didn’t manage to help his team to a win, after he was substituted in the sixth inning when he allowed 7 R. Czech pitcher only had 5 earned runs while the rest was attributed to defensive errors. Campbell won the game 7-2 which means Padyšák has now 3 losses in the statistics.
Charlestone Univeristy played four games against West Virginia Wesleyan College on Sunday. Unfortunately, Filip Smola only played one game as a pinch-hitter and is yet to have his first hit of the season.
Pitt Community played three games against Bryant & Stratton and we could see Martin Zelenka in two of them. He managed to get on base three times on Saturday and contributed to 10-2 win. He also earned a hit on Sunday, however, Pitt lost 10-11.
