College Baseball: Menšík has 2 homeruns. Chlup in NCAA selection
It wasn’t only Extraliga that saw baseball games on Friday. College baseball didn’t stop and Czechs were once again in the action.
NC State played against Boston College in a game of two teams that are not playing up to their expectations this year. In the end NC State won 20-5 and Vojtěch Menšík had his say in it, when he blasted a two run homerun in the third inning. This was the second HR on the season for him, which saw him level his current HR record in NCAA. He had two HR in 2019 and 2020 as well.
North Greenville Univeristy played a doubleheader against King University and with two wins they improved their record to 23-6. Marek Chlup earned a hit in the first game, with which he increased his team lead from 10-2 to 12-2. Despite not getting a hit in the second game, he earned 3 BB. Excellent performance of the young Czech didn’t go unnoticed and server ncaa.com listed him among nine batters with the best form in Division II.
On Thursday Arizona Western played doubleheader against Mesa Community College with Ondřej Furko as a starter in one of them. Draci core player played for 4 innings, allowing his opponents 7 H and 4 R. Mesa won 13-5 after Arizona relievers allowed 9 R in 5 innings.
