College Baseball: Pitt lost despite Zelenka’s homerun
A smaller number of Czech players played college baseball on Saturday, when compared to Friday, however, they still played an important role for their team.
Series between NC State and Clemson continued with the second game. After a loss on Friday, North Carolina team wanted to improve. Unfortunately, they didn’t manage to beat their opponent in the second duel either. Vojtěch Menšík didn’t add a run to his stats and his BA fell to .254, while NC State lost 3-9.
Univeristy Charleston played against West Liberty Univeristy, winning both games they played. Filip Smola only entered the game for one inning in the second game. He didn’t get to step into the batting box and so his stats remained unchanged.
Series between Pitt and Brunswick continued with another game, where we could see Martin Zelenka. With a HR in the bottom of the fifth, he managed to get his team closer to the opponent, turning the score to 4-5 for Brunswick. However, these were the last runs Pitt managed to earn in the game, eventually loosing 4-7.
The first game where Arizona Western played Paradise Valley Community College saw Ondřej Furko step on the mound for an inning. He didn’t allow his opponents any runs, eventually allowing his team to win 11-1.
