EXL: Eagles entered series against Arrows with a win
There was only one baseball game played on Friday, when Eagles Praha hosted Arrows Ostrava.
Both coaches started young pitchers. For the away team it was Matěj Satoria, while Eagles pitcher, seventeen years old Vasko Kolev, had his Extraliga premier. And it was veteran Petr Čech who welcomed the young pitcher with a two run homerun in the first inning. Koleva was subbed in the next inning by Tomáš Duffek, who was expected to start, and the new pitcher brought the energy with him. On the other side, Arrows started to pile up errors in defense, allowing Eagles to take the lead. The lead reached 11-4 after six innings.
But it wasn’t the end, after Arrows finally managed to get Duffek out of the mound and added four runs to the tally. However, Jan Uhlíř and Šimon Blažek managed to hold Arrows enough to get Eagles their third win on the season. Arrows are currently 2-2 on the season.
Second game of the series is planned on Saturday in Prague. Third game will be played in Ostrava. We will also see more series start on Saturday. Only Draci vs. Olympia series was postponed due to Covid.
