EXL: Eagles Praha brings Andy Cosgrove
Currently sitting in the second place in Extraliga standings, Eagles Praha announced new player. American Andy Cosgrove will play at Krč for the rest of the season.
Cosgrove was drafted by Minnesota Twins in 2017 in 17th round. Twins scouts were interested by his performance at NC State university, where Vojtěch Menšík plays this year and where Marek Chlup, son of current Eagles coach, played in previous season. In 36 games played, Cosgrove had .284 BA, .363 OBP. After two years in Twins system, he played 2019 season in independant Frontier League.
Cosgrove should play as a catcher, the position where he played for the most of his career. Previous fall he also spent some time training pitching (video below), the position where Eagles need strenghtening. The question is, what the future holds for Robbie Nelson, who plays primarily a catcher, but he only started two times on the position this season.
