EXL: Hroši Brno and Nuclears Třebíč won by a large margin

Last four games of Extraliga Week 2 were played on Sunday. And half of the games ended by a difference of a class.

Surprisingly, Arrows Ostrava didn’t start Ondřej Satoria, but young Filip Votava. Young pitcher, however, showed why he got the trust of his coach, despite allowing two runs in the first inning, these were the only runs he allowed. His teammates, on the other hand, found a way around Eagles Carson Goldsmith. Arrows scored two runs in the first inning to make it 2-2 and later, they added two more in the fourth inning.

This is where Arrows substituted Votava by Ondřej Satoria who pitched remaining five innings. Satoria only allowed five hits to his opponents, thanks to which Ostrava won 5-2.

After their first win in Extraliga, Jablonec had a chance to win the series on Sunday. However, Třebíč started Justin Revels, while Radek Burian stepped on the mound for Blesk. But Nuclears managed to score ten runs in first three innings and basically all but sealed their win. Matěj Brabec played a good game where he was 4-for-4 with 4 RBI. Patrik Kadrnožka also had unusual 5 BBs.

The winner of the series between Kotlářka and Hroši was to be found at Na Markétě in Prague. In the first three innings both sides kept each other in check, but then away offense exploaded and Hroši scored thirteen runs in two innings. Pitcher Martin Grundman held the home team from catching up. In the last two innings we could see Boris Večerka, who allowed Kotlářka only two runs, which meant Hroši took the series with 15-4 win. After the win Hroši lead Extraliga.

Third game between Tempo and Hluboká promised an interesting matchup, with Jake Rabinowitz and Petr Vojta on the mound. The game was leveled until the third inning, where visitor scored a run after a defensive error. In the next inning Hluboká added five more runs, which saw Rabinowitz substituted. We also saw a first homerun on the season for Hluboká, somewhat surprisingly by Matěj Dvořák.

Tempo tried to get back into the game, even came as close as two runs apart from their opponent. Visitors, however, reacted by changing the pitcher and sending Vojtěch Vlach into the game. Vlach played his part well, he only allowed two hits and one walk for the remainder of the game. Tempo managed to score a run against him, but that came after catcher’s error, who missed throw at the first base after third strike. Hluboká won again and is so far unbeaten on the field.
