EXL: Johnson and Novák players of Opening Week
Czech Baseball Association gave fans an opportunity to pick players of the week this season. For the Opening Week Ryan Johnson from Třebíč and Jan Novák from Hluboká were chosen.
Based on the poll, more than 400 fans voted. Ryan Johnson was picked as the Player of the Week after he entered the season in style, recording 7 hits from 9 AB. After first week he also has .788 BA, .846 OBP, 2.111 SLG and 2.957 OPS.
Pitcher of the Week was awarded to Jan Novák, who only allowed 2 hits in 6 innings in his start against Eagles Praha and didn’t allow a run. Additionally, he also recorded 12 SO. Unfortunately, Hluboká subsequently lost the game due to the rules violation.
