Kamil Pejchal played his first game in Bundesliga
Three Czechs played their craft in German Bundesliga this year. Beside duo Jan Tomek and Tomáš Ondra in Geuggenberger Legionäre, Kamil Pejchal joined the league for Tübingen Hawks. And it was these two teams who squared off against one another.
In the end, it was only Pejchal who played, despite his team losing against the favourite from Geuggenberger, first 15-12, then 18-0 in for innings.
Kamil Pejchal started in the center field in the first game and in his first AB he earned a BB. He reached the base in the fifth inning and after the opponent’s error he earned his first run in Bundesliga, which saw Hawks lower their score deficit to 3-11. In the sixth, Hawks managed to turn the score to 12-11 and former Třebíč player was part of the comeback with two BBs and a run.
In the eight Legionäre first took the 13-12 lead, and so Hawks decided to put Pejchal on the mound. He finished the game, allowing Legionäre only two more runs. He topped the debut in the league by a hit in ninth inning.
The second game was dominated by Legionäre, who won 18-0. Their starter Kaleb Bowman almost got a no-hitter, however it was Pejchal who halted his plans when he earned the only hit of his team.
