Bundesliga: Pejchal has his first homerun of the season
German Bundesliga continued with more games over the weekend. Kamil Pejchal and Jan Tomek played for their teams, while Tomáš Ondra still has to wait for his opportunity due to an injury.
So far, Kamil Pejchal is the Czech who plays the most in the league. Over the weekened, he played both games between Tübingen and Main Athletics. Once again he played both the field and on the mound. In the first game, he started as a pitcher, but was substituted during the third inning after he allowed 5hits and 5 BB. Tübingen defense, however, didn’t help Czech, as only five of the nine runs were earned by Pejchal. He was more successful with his bat, with two hits from five at bats. Tübingen lost 6-14.
Second game went much better for Tübingen, after they won 10-0. Pejchal started in the right field and he got his first HR on the season. It came in the fourth inning and Czech increased his team’s lead to 7-0.
After his premier a week ago, Jan Tomek pitched for Regensburg this week. He got to the game as a reliever, after starting pitcher Christian Pedrol allowed six runs in three innings. Czech was able to stop opponent’s offense, only allowing one run in four innings. He also got eight strikeouts. Despite this Regensburg lost 3-8, which is their second loss on the season. After the weekend, they are 10-2 and hold second place in Bundesliga-South behind Heidenheim.
