Bundesliga: Tomek has second win, Pejchal second loss
Another week of games was played in German Bundesliga and Czech duo was in action again.
Regensburg started Jan Tomek against Ulm, which is currently hopelessly last in the standings. Player, who started his baseball with Frýdek-Místek, threw all seven innings in the game where Legionäre won 11-1. Beside a run, Ulm batters were only able to get 2 hits and were striked out seven times. With this performance, Czech international got his second win on the season.
Coming to the series between Tübingen and Mannheim, Kamil Pejchal also had two wins. He could add the third one in the first game of the series, when he started on the mound for the Hawks. First three innings looked promising, as he held opponent’s batters without a run. However, in the fourth inning, Mannheim destroyed Pejchal with eight runs and he had to be substituted. The game ended 10-5 for Mannheim and Pejchal earned a second loss on the season. Czech didn’t do much better at the offensive side, as he didn’t have a hit from seven at bats in two games he played. He was able to get a walk.
