EXL: Eagles won against the league leader. Třebíči got their vendetta
Extraliga Week 4 continued with 4 games. Interestingly, there were only Czech starting pitchers.
Series between Blansko and Třebíč continued with the second game and similar to yesterday it was a close one. This time Nuclears ended on top. Třebíč was loosing 0-1 in the third inning, after home team took advantage of an error and Ondřej Filip scored the first run. Away team had to wait till sixth inning to get their runs against Štěpán Havlíček. Lukáš Malý first got on base after an error. He was then moved to second base after an intentional walk for Ryan Johannes Johnson and Braden Connor Walsh. Malý and Johnson were then able to score two runs. Home team showed respect for Johnson as he was given 3 intentional walks.
Lukáš Pacal played well for Třebíč, he threw 6 innings and only allowed home batters 3 hits. Tomáš Zachoval and Justin Revels then finished the game. They only allowed one run, same as the home reliever Jakub Kostka. The game finished with a narrow 3-2 win for the away team. The winner of the series will be decided on Saturday when the series moves to Vysočina.

An interesting pitching game was on display in Brno, where two Czech internationals Radim Chroust and Lukáš Ercoli faced each other. They both kept their teams in running for the entire game. It were the current Extraliga champions in the end, who took the 1-0 lead after Michael Varga‘s sacrificial hit and Adam Hajtmar‘s run. His brother Jakub Hajtmar then got second Draci’s run two innings later, after Přemek Chroust‘s hit. In the end Draci won 2-0, as Jan Vašourek substituted Chroust and threw one scoreless inning. The series continues on Saturday in Prague where the teams will play a doubleheader.

The game between Eagles and Hroši promised to be one of the most interesting games of the day. Andrew Cosgrove, the new Eagles player, started the game and it was he who scored the first run for his team, after he got his first hit in Extraliga only moments before. Eagles were able to outplay Lukáš Hlouch and score 6 runs in three innings after which Hroši had to use their bullpen. On the other side Tomáš Duffek showed an excellent performance with 12 SO and without any run allowed in seven innings.
Eagles won 10-0 on mercy rule after eight innings. Both teams have 7-3 record and they now share first place in Extraliga standings.

Arrows Ostrava also played their three new players. Tyler Smith was able to get Ostrava on board with a triple in his first AB. Away team couldn’t find a way to bat against Ondřej Satoria for a long time, but they were able to get on board with a HR from Matěj Pláteník in the sixth inning. But this was all the scoring they did. Home bullpen only allowed Tempo one hit, thanks to which Arrows took their 5th win on the season
