EXL: Walk-off Eagles. Hroši snapped the loosing streak

There were four games played on Sunday. Only duel in Jablonec had to be postponed due to inclement weather.

Třebíč returned to Brno after two lost games against Draci, hoping they could win at least one game and avoid sweep. Draci got to an early 1-0 lead in the second inning, but Nuclears were able to get ahead in the fifth inning. Justin Revels couldn’t hold home team in the seventh inning and with two runs, Draci went ahead again. Marcus Jensen, who substituted starter Filip Čapka wouldn’t allow visitors any runs and so Draci swept Třebíč.

Hroši wanted to snap the loosing streak, but they had their work cut out for them against Arrows. Home team entered the game well, leading 4-0 after two innings. However, Arrows showed their strenght at bat this season and were able to turn the tide.

In the fifth inning Hroši scored five runs and took the lead again. Not many would suspect this would be the last runs scored in the game. Both bullpens held the batters in check and Hroši won 11-12 in the end, snapping the four game loosing streak.

Prague derby between Tempo and Eagles was interesting from TOP 6 point of view. The game, which was supposed to be played at Krč, was moved to Tempo due to pitch conditions. Tempo surprisingly started Nicolas O’Rourke, but he didn’t disappoint, after he remained on the mound for six innings and left the game with 2-2 score. Carson Goldsmith threw seven innings for Eagles, he only allowed two runs. The game was close and the winner would be decided at the very end.

First, Marek Minařík homerun sent Tempo ahead in the eight inning. Jake Rabinowitz then stepped on the mound, trying to get his team a win. Unfortunately for Tempo, Eagles leveled the score after two singles in the ninth inning, after which Andrew Cosgrove added a walk-off hit. Tempo wasn’t able to get closer to Třebíč and is currently two wins behind. The two teams will play next week and the result of the series can have TOP 6 repercussions.

All five series this season ended 1-2 for Kotlářka so far. After two losses on Saturday, they needed a win. Hluboká played a wider roster, leaving several of their core players to rest. Despite this, the game was close till the end. Visitors took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning, but Hluboká responded in next half inning scoring two runs. The rest of the game continued in a similar manner.

The winner was decided in the last two innings. Visitors scored three runs against Wesley Roemer grabbing the lead once again. Hluboká was able to get two runners on bases in the ninth inning, but Štěpán Dupal managed the situation and Kotlářka could celebrate the win.
