EXL: Walsh and Grundmann players of Week 7
After another week played in Extraliga, ČBA announced Player/Pitcher of the Week awards. This time, there are two players who haven’t got the award yet.
Braden Walsh from Třebíč Nuclears took the batter’s award. American player had a really good series against Tempo, where he had 7 hits from 10 AB. He also added two BB and 7 RBI. Walsh followed his teammate Ryan Johnson who took the award in the first week.
For the first time this year, the player from Hroši Brno took the award in either category. It was pitcher Martin Grundmann who was to be the first in his team. Currently on loan from Eagles Praha, Grundmann impressed in the game against Sokol Hluboká where he didn’t allow a run in eight innings and also added 11 SO, which became his personal record. He finished in front of Jan Novák, who took the award three times. Novák’s streak of pitching awards in odd weeks was snapped by Grundmann.
