European Championship: Slovakia will battle for the spot in European Championship
European Championship qualification will start on Wednesday in Bratislava. Four teams, Slovakia, Ireland, Finland and Hungary, will fight for the one spot for the main tournament.
Slovak baseballers will have their work cut out for them, as they will play against tough opponents. The team led by active coach Martin Brunegraf prepared for their games at Prague Baseball Week (PBW) over the weekend. Furthermore, there will be several experienced players who didn’t play at PBW. Possibly the biggest name is Jakub Ižold, the first Slovak player to sign a professional contract with MLB team. We will also see Marek Vykoukal, who has a lot of experience from Czech Extraliga, where he won the league title with Arrows Ostrava.
Slovakia will play their first game against Hungary. Afterwards, they will face Finland and Ireland. You can watch all the game at Slovak Baseball Youtube.
