PBW: U18 won Group B
Czech U18 team played two games on Thursday. They won both and advanced to the semifinals.
CZE U18 – Sweden 12-2 (5 inn.)
Czech starter Boris Večerka had 2 SO to start the game, showing what the game would look like. Czechs took the lead in the bottom of the first inning after a hit from Michal Zelenka and run by Matěj Vlach. Czechs gradually increased the lead to 12-2. They also managed to get back-to-back homeruns in the fourth inning, courtesy of Michal Zelenka and Adam Prudil.
Slovakia – CZE U18 2-13 (5 inn.)
Energized by their win, youngsters started the game against Slovakia in style, forcing Slovak starter Martin Gieci out in the first inning after 8 runs. Slovaks were not able to catch up with their opponent and they lost in their second game in the tournament.
The two wins mean U18 won Group B and they advance to semifinals, along with Spain, Czech U23 and senior team.
