European Championship U18: Czechs couldn’t hold the lead and finished sixth
Czech U18 team played the last game of European Championship this year, when they faced France for the fifth place.
If you started watching the game in the second inning, you had to be rather surprised, as the score was 5-4 for Czechs and starting pitchers were no longer in the game. Neither of the teams scored in next three innings and Czechs kept their lead.
The bottom of the fifth inning didn’t go well for the Czech team, however. France pressed in the offense, helped by an error in Czech defense they scored four runs. They added two more in the following inning. Czechs tried to return the favor in the seventh inning, but they only managed to score two run.
After 7-10 loss Czech team finished at the sixth place at European Championship, which is the second worst place for U18 in the history.
