EXL: Eagles Praha dominated Hroši
Despite two Czech teams playing European leagues this week, Extraliga continued. On Friday we only saw one game when Eagles welcomed Hroši.
Hroši team fell apart in TOP 6 as many experienced players decided to end their career. Their absence was notable at Eagles Park, where visitors couldn’t oppose the home team. Furthermore, Eagles started reliable Joseph Enea, who didn’t allow any runs and earned himself a shutout.
Marek Chlup also returned to Eagles lineup and it was he who started home offense and scored in the first run of the game. Jakub Bílek at Hroši mound kept the score close till the fourth inning. In it Eagles pressed in the offense and scored 4 runs increasing their lead to 6-0. The sixth inning was even worse for Brno team, when Tomáš Říčný substituted Bílik. New pitcher had problems to locate the strikezone as he allowed 6 batters on bases. Hroši hoped Adam Jacques could help them salvage the situation when he entered the game with Eagles winning 11-0 and bases loaded. However, he first walked Jan Pojer only to see the ball from Marek Chlup‚s bat pass through the gap which helped Eagles score three more runs.
After a dominant win, Eagles moved to the second spot in the standings. They can improve their record further on Saturday, when they face Hroši again.
