EXL: Tempo at second place after comeback. Draci won in 11 innings

Saturday TOP 6 games were full of surprises and interesting moments. Tempo also moved to the second place in TOP 6 standings.

The third game in Arrows-Draci series was played in Brno. Similar to the first game, this one was close. There was an interesting moment, when Pavel Chadim, who celebrated his 50th birthday, entered the game as DH 10 years after his last Extraliga game. And he could watch his teammates go ahead in the third inning. But Ostrava responded in the following inning, scoring two runs after Petr Čech’s hit. After Draci error, they also added third run.

Draci had more hits in the game, but they had to wait to level the game. They entered the bottom of the ninth inning one run behind, when Martin Schneider’s solo homerun scored second Draci run. The similar went for Pabel Manzanero who started the inning with his fourth HR in the series. With the score leveled, the game went to extra innings.

In the tenth inning, Arrows first scored after Brett Holtz‘s hit. But home team responded with RBI single from Arnošt Dubový. Afterwards, Petr Čech didn’t catch Boris Bokaj‘s throw and Draci moved two runners into the scoring positions with one out. Arrows defense managed to catch Jakub Hajtmar between the bases after Martin Schneider‘s run, however. Eugene Helder‘s hit was afterwards caught at warning track by Daniel Černý.

In the eleventh inning Ostrava didn’t score any runs and home team punished them for it. Pabel Manzanero solidified his role as the hero of the series, after he sent a long hit to the right field. To everyone’s surprise Jakub Grepl didn’t manage to catch it. After an inaccurate throw to the first base Martin Schneider had enough time to get the winning run.

The first game between Hluboká and Hroši offered a great pitching duel. Home William Parsons and away Jakub Bílek didn’t allow any runs in nine innings. The game went to extra innings in which Hroši scored two runs thanks to double from David Fiala. In the bottom half, home team managed to load the bases with two outs, only to clear them with a triple from Vasil Zhupanin and the fans could celebrate.

Second game saw first runs scored much earlier, more specifically in the second inning, when home team took the lead. But the end of the game was all about the visitors. Hroši scored 6 runs between sixth and eighth inning taking the win. The winner of the series will be decided on Sunday in Brno.

Prague derby between Eagles and Tempo seemed to be destined to Eagles. Visitors went ahead in the second inning and they were leading 5-2 in the middle of the eight inning. But the bottom of the eighth inning changed everything when Tempo bats exploded. Tempo scored nine innings and came back from behind. They were helped by 4 HR, two of which were thanks to Phillip Steering, one by Martin Zelenka and sixteen year old Viktor Hluchý also added his first homerun in his Extraliga career. In the ninth inning Eagles added one more run, but it wasn’t enough to get the win and so Tempo took the first game of the series.
