U15 European Championship: Slovakia came from behind to get the first win of the tournament
Slovak national team played an important game at U15 European Championship on Friday. The duel against Austria would determine who finished third in Trnava group.
Slovakia didn’t start the game well as they were loosing 0-2 after first inning. However, in the second inning Samuel Deák scored in first Slovakia run. An inning later, Slovak fans could be even happier. First, pitcher Matej Uhnavý helped his team with a 2 run single, giving Slovakia the lead. Afterwards Tobiáš Balogh scored in fourth run, which turned out the be the winning one.
Uhnavý only allowed one run in the remainder of the game, earning his team and himself a win. Furthermore, he had 7 SO in 7 innings. Slovakia beat Austria 5-3, winning the first game of the tournament. The win also meant they would finished third in the group B. They will now play in the bottom group along with Austria and third team from group A, to determine which country will remain in Category A for the next year.
