Vojtěch Menšík signed contract with LA Angels
Czech fans hoped that after a successful season, some of MLB clubs could draft Vojtěch Menšík. This unfortunately didn’t happend, but Menšík signed the professional contract with MLB organization anyway.
Czech Baseball Association announced on their social profiles that Czech infielder signed professional contract with Los Angles Angels organization. Menšík will remain in USA and he should join the organization in Arizona in few weeks. The state is site of Arizona Fall League (AFL), which takes place after MiLB season, where Angles sends their prospects to play for Mesa Solar Sox. We are yet to see if this will be the case for Menšík. In past, only Martin Červenka played in AFL.
Menšík became another Czech player to sign professional contract in the States. Czech Republic is, however, still waiting for the player to reach the best baseball league. Currently, Martin Červenka, playing at Triple A for New York Mets minors organization Syracuse Mets, is the closest.
