EXL: Lineup of the month announced for July
Another month passed and we, along with Czech Baseball Association, bring you Lineup of the month. This time we also included first two August days when considering the players, as these were last days of TOP 6.
The toughest choice this month was to pick pitchers. There were four players in the final consideration. In the end, we chose Tomáš Duffek as the starting pitcher, after he started 3 games, ended up with 2 complete games in 27 innings and 26 SO. David Mergans was picked as the reliever, when he played 4 games, throwing 11 innings and only allowing 2 runs. Alexandr Šín’s performance was also worth noting, as he finished July with ERA 1.59 and 2 wins from 4 games.
Eugene Helder, with BA .474 can’t miss from the monthly lineup. From 18 hits he earned in the month, 10 were extra bases hits. Furthermore, Draci shortstop had 16 RBI. Jakub Kubica finished first in runs (14) and BB (11) in July.
Martin Mužík ended just outside of the Lineup of the month, despite blasting 6 HR. There was also a tight battle between Jakub Malík and Marek Chlup for the 1B position, which turned out in Chlup’s favor
