NExl: Technika Brno returns to Extraliga
They were only away one year, but Technika Brno, the second most successful team in the country, returns to Extraliga. Three time champions snatched the second spot in Promotion League. On the other hand, Kotlářka Praha lost all chances to play the top flight of baseball and was demoted to First League.
Brno team had everything in their hands at the beginning of the weekend, but they needed to beat Pelikans Bučovice in both games. Based on the statistics, this shouldn’t be a problem, as Bučovice were yet to win a game in Promotion League.
Technika confirmed their role as a favorite. First they beat Bučovice away 14-0, when Pelikans kept in touch with Brno team for only two innings. Technika added 9 runs in the third inning and they didn’t let it go. The game was finished early, in the seventh inning, due to rain.
Dominance in the second game came much earlier, as Technika scored four runs in the first inning. In the end, Brno team took 9-0 win which meant their return to Extraliga.
