Czechs beat Austria in a friendly game
Czech national team traveled to Austria a week before European Championship. Here, they will play two friendly games to prepare for the tournament. The games are part of International Baseball Weekend. The first game Czechs played was against the hosting team.
Czechs dominated the entire game, not allowing Austria any kind of pressure. Boris Bokaj, Ondřej Furko, Viktor Večerka and Tomáš Hrbek kept their opponent scoreless until the bottom of the eight inning. Afterwards, however, Czech defense didn’t help their pitcher and Austria scored five runs. Jan Novák then came into the game to throw the remaining four outs. He didn’t allow any hits and Czechs celebrated the expected win.
Martin Mužík was playing especially well in the offense, when he earned four hits.
Second game will be played on Sunday at 11:00 against Germany.
