MS U23: Czechia lost 1-4 with Chinese Taipei
16 hours after unexpected win against Mexico czech team faced national team of Chinese Taipei. This time Czech didn’t find the way how to win the game.
Chinese Taipei was very productive in first inning when scored for runs against czech starter David Mergans. From second inning Mergans was substituted by Tomáš Hrbek and he was able to stop taiwanesse batters. In 4 IP he didn’t allow more runs.
Czech batters struggled three innings against taiwanesse submarine pitcher Yu-Hung Chen. They had their first runner on base in top of fourth inning after walk by Jakub Kubica. Short while later Marek Chlup hits first czech hit of the game. But it wasn’t enough to score any run.
Finally they get it in top of sixth inning which was opened by nice bunt from Radim Novotný. He forced taiwanesse catcher to make a throwing error and than Vojtěch Menšík batted him for first run.
Czech team didn’t add more runs and lost the game 1-4. This score is great for czechs and should help them at the end of group stage. But they need to improve on bat in next games. Czech team has only three hit after two games played. Next chance for them is on saturday evening when they will face Germany.
