EXL: Tempo Praha agreed terms with Štěpán Dupal
Beside Hroši Brno, Tempo Praha has also been active in offseason when it comes to announcing new players. This time Tempo went searching to Prague’s Troja, as they signed the player who started his career in SaBaT Praha, Štěpán Dupal.
Thirty years old Dupal has only played for two teams during his career. Beside SaBaT he also played for Kotlářka for five years. However, he has only played three seasons in Extraliga, as he spent most of his career in the First League. In Extraliga he mostly played on the mound for Kotlářka and at bat for SaBaT. It can, however, be expected that he will get his chance in both positions for Tempo.
As a pitcher Štěpán Dupal threw 48.2 innings in Extraliga with 2.78 ERA and rather good 10.9 SO/9, along with 6 recorded saves. From 29 AB, he was only able to get 3 hits, marking his BA at .103. However, he showed he can be explosive with the bat in his hands when he reached BA .375 in the First League in 2019. Tempo already showed, in Marek Minářik, they can turn pitcher into an elite batter.
