EXL: Hroši signed Australian international
Extraliga team Hroši Brno announced the third foreign player for the upcoming season. This time it’s a rather experienced player, as Brno team signed Australian pitcher Jon Kenedy.
Twenty-seven year old Kenedy is a left-handed pitcher, who should play as a starter in Brno. He brings immense quality and experience to Hroši. He played 9 seasons in Australian ABL for Melbourne Aces, where he had ERA 4.23 and 151 SO in 178.2 IP. Beside that he also spent 4 years in MiLB in Atlanta Braves system, where he added 186.1 IP with 3.09 ERA and 165 SO.
Beside Australia and USA he also spent a season in Japanese independent Baseball Challenge League. Czech fans could also see Kenedy at international events, as he was part of Australian national team at World Baseball Classic in 2017 and two years later at Premier 12, where he helped his team to win against Canada and with a save he contributed to a surprising win against USA.
John Hussey was one of the deciding factors for Kenedy’s arrival as the new pitcher said. „I wanted to spend summer in Europe, but I didn’t know where to start. We played a couple of years with John in Australia so I contacted him, asking if he was searching for a starter. John said yes and he introduced Hroši, the team culture and the city over the phone, and I knew I wanted to play here,“ Kenedy said for Hroši web page.
